Upon launching plex, it shows the logo then black screen. Many users on reddit report the same issue.

Same here. On both my LG C2 and LG CX. Browser andd phone are working. Just a black screen on my TVs and tried every work around I can think of.

Same issue here. Plex app on LG C2 loads to black screen and hangs indefinitely. Plex app works without issue on Samsung TV.

Same for me as well.
Every other device works fine except for my LG TV.
A friend with an older LG TV also has the same problem

Do you know what caused the issue, and whether it is likely to happen again?

The app is sort of like a web page and there was a caching issue on where it is hosted.
