# Plex Live Image?!?

Hello,

i try to use my mac mini server 2012 as plex server but i’m totally failing by getting this done ☹

is there any simple “plug&play” solution, an linux image with plex included for install on any device? An “Plex Live Image” or so? 😉

Usually it’s good enough to simply drag the PMS app in your applications folder and run it from there.

The latest version of PMS requires macOS 10.13 or newer.  
According to Wikipedia, the Mini from 2012 should be able to run macOS 10.15 (Catalina)… so you should be good.

Not exactly sure why you want to run a “live image”

you understood that the server should be installed on a linux system and no mac? so what is your posting good for?

You tagged it as #server-mac … so now we know that’s not what you’re looking for.

I only now found [your other post](https://forums.plex.tv/t/easiest-way-to-set-up-a-plex-server-on-linux/859183) discussion how to setup Plex on Linux… just keep in mind a live image or container will still require you to setup your file shares.
