My Live TV facility is no longer working. When I click on the “Program Guide” tab, I just see a message saying “The Program Guide is empty”. My future scheduled recordings are also all gone.
I have tried refreshing the EPG multiple times. Every time, it appears to go through the motions but does not actually download any new airings.
I have also deleted the tuner(s) and re-done the setup all over. I still cannot download any new airings.
My details:
Plex Media Server version: Windows, 1.9.4.4325 (up-to-date, as of this post)
Tuner: HDHomeRun Prime using Verizon FiOS CableCARD
Region: I’m in the Philadelphia region, in case this is a regional issue with regards to downloading the appropriate EPG.
I should add that all my channels are being detected properly with the channel scan. But no actual program data is being downloaded for these channels.
Searching through other people’s similar issues provided an interim solution. It appears that if Gracenote has no data for one channel, the entire EPG is borked.
So I had to disable all channels and then re-enable a set of channels at a time to eventually figure out which was the offending channel. Thankfully, in my case, there was only 1 channel with 0 info from Gracenote. Once I excluded that channel, I was able to download a proper EPG. My scheduled recordings are also back as before.
I hope Plex fixes this behavior soon. One channel shouldn’t screw up the whole EPG.
