I'm seeing the same errors on FreeNAS-9.10-STABLE, Plex Server Version 1.2.7.2987

Everything seems to be working as intended just really annoying since my server will email me everytime there's an error, so I get emails with hundreds of lines saying "exited on signal 11".

Sig 11 is memory related, so either a bug in the code trying to access memory, or you have a hardware memory issue.

#4

I can confirm I'm seeing the same error in my logs (pretty much looks identical to Joe's):

FreeNAS Build: FreeNAS-9.10.1-U2 (f045a8b)
PMS: 1.2.7.2987

Can confirm. Please refer to this Reddit thread:

I started seeing this on 2016-10-31, judging from the release times of updates it's likely that is when I updated to PMS 1.2.3.

I also occasionally (but much rarer) see exits on signal 6, which also started at the same time.

As a note to @Trudge: The server has ECC memory, so if it was a hardware issue it's likely to have been caught by that.

Just want to chime in and say that I am experiencing this as well.

FreeNAS-9.3-STABLE-201412090314
PMS: 1.2.7.2987
Plex updated using the port version.

Looking at my emails, I've been getting this since 11/2 and consecutively since 11/9.

Same problem here:

FreeNAS-9.10.1-U4
PMS: 1.2.7.2987

Getting this since 13-Nov-16 after updating from older version of PMS using mstinaff's PMS_Updater.

Daily message about 2am or when forcibly running the media scanner on any media folder.

Same here. Also running FreeNAS-9.10.1-U4
Xeon processor, 16GB ECC Ram, it also appeared with the last update.
I tried the FreeNAS-Plugin and the pkg-version, makes no difference. I'll try building the port on the machine, maybe it's a problem with the package.

Same problem.

Version 1.2.7.2987 on FreeNAS-9.10.1-U4 (ec9a7d3)

16GB ECC RAM -- been having the issue for a few versions in the PlexPass branch of development. I've been wracking my brain to find a solution but it appears that it lies in the code of Plex itself. Sort of refreshing to know that.

I use the port version (I'll update my first post with that) and I have the issue as well, so I think it's something in the code like @cobrabyte says. And I definitely agree it's nice to know it's not 'our' systems.

I can confirm, the ports-version has the same problem.

#13

Just wanted to say I have this problem as well on freenas 9.3 using the plugin

#14

Same issue here, with Freenas build FreeNAS-9.10.1-U4 (ec9a7d3), and Plex Media Server installed from ports on a dedicated jail.
I updated both Freenas and PMS at the same time, so I'm not sure about the culprit here (though I'm pretty sure this comes from latest PMS version).
Is this bug signaled on an official thread, or should I do it?

FWIW, no signal 11 errors here:

Xeon E5-2630 v3
host: FreeBSD 11.0-RELEASE-p3 (amd64)
plex jail: Vanilla jail (also 11.0-RELEASE-p3)
filesystem: ZFS

Is everyone who is having this problem running FreeNAS?

The OP looks like he is running FreeBSD 9.3 based on his first post.

Noticed the error after I went to FreeNAS-9.10.1-U3 (d985cd1). I get daily email logs from my FreeNAS and never saw this error before that. Have made two PMS upgrades since (currently running PMS Version 1.2.7.2987) - has not changed the signal 11 issue.

In the same boat, tons of signal 11's on the scanner.

Running the Plexpass version on FreeNAS 9.10.1 U4

Everything seems to function ok but having a log filled with errors is killing my inbox.

I also have been getting the same error recently. Doesn't seem to affect anything, just get it listed in the nightly email.

Me too, since a recent update.
