Plex Media server crashing (shuts down from running applications)

Server Version#: 1.21.1.3830
Player Version#: .47.3

I have been having issues with my New build shutting down Plex. It will be random too. One min its running fine and i can search movies and next min it’s closed and i have to start media server up again.

I have checked in C:\Users\CraigServ\AppData\Local\Plex Media Server\Crash Reports but the 4 folders in there all say they are empty.

PC is a brand new high end build and im not having any other issues with any software running except for plex.

Any advice to dial in what’s happening here. it’s been doing the same thing on the last 4 updates.

Wow, I have the exact same issue. Nothing in the log, it just starts the crash uploader out of nowhere.

I do see something weird in the tuner and dlna server logs though, it says

Not sure if that has anything to do with it though.

Good to hear this is not isolated. I have tried everything I can think of to stop it. Weirdly it seems if I leave plex open in a browser window it does not shut down but I’m testing that right now to be sure.

Ok I have dialed in the issue. When the kids attempt to load up plex on the fire tv it will shut down the plex media server on the PC. I attempt to open it numerous times and eventually it will stay open. Not sure how to fix this and cant find anyone with the same issue on a search.

Same issue here (I run the server on linux however). After updating to 1.21.1.3830 I get a lot of buffering and the server crashes when connecting from client, and also messes up something with the network connection as my VPN servers drops out.
Downgraded plexmediaserver to 1.21.1.3795 and that solved the issue for me.

Edit: The issue is back, looks like restarting the service was the thing that helped.
