# Plex Media Server doesn't start after installation on MacOS

Server Version#: 1.31.2.6739  
Player Version#:

I downloaded the Plex Media Server on my M1 Mac Mini from the site, unpack and then do the first start. On the Server Setup screen after waiting for a little bit it throws an error message below

# A problem has been detected with a core component of Plex Media Server.

I have a similar problem after update Osx to Catalina 10.15.7. Tried to install older versions of PMS but the problem still exist ☹

remove the ’ from your device name

ERROR - [MediaProviderManager] [HttpHeader] invalid ‘X-Plex-Device-Name’ header value (Sachin’s M1)

You’ve 2 active network connections (usually wired and wifi on Macs) - disable one. (ideally wifi)

restart - if still issues, post all the logs, not just the subject you have already.
