# Plex Media Server not launching on iMac

Server Version#: 1.23.2.4600 (rolled back to 1.22.3.4392 while trying to solve)
Player Version#: Various
My Mid-2011 iMac (10.13.6) restarted last night (first time since PMS update) and PMS did not launch on startup. I have attempted to reboot my iMac again and re-launch PMS as well as roll back to PMS 1.22.3.4392.
Prior to this morning, my server has been operating without issues since 2019, so I’m new to troubleshooting. I tried pulling up any crash longs via “~/Library/Application Support/Plex Media Server/Crash Reports/” and there are folders there, but they all seem to be empty.
Any guidance would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for your time.

Try to run the server, wait a moment, then look for `Plex Media Server.log`.
Could be some database corruption if that restart interrupted your PMS in the middle of some update?!

Check if you can [repair the database](https://support.plex.tv/articles/repair-a-corrupted-database/) or if it’s gone for good.

If repairing the database fails, you can try restoring from a backup created by Plex

Theoretically you could also try restoring the database from a Time Machine backup. However I’ve seen mixed results from that given Time Machine could have backed up while other db changes were still in progress/preparation.
