# Plex movie count wrong

Could anybody help me as to why my Plex total movie count is displaying incorrectly?

Viewing all movies:  
If I sort by date added, I get 4789 movies.  
If I sort by title, I get 5471 movies.

The correct number is 5471, but I prefer the view “date added” as it shows me what’s recently been added to my collection (obviously!).

I’ve tried rebuilding the library from scratch, refreshing metadata etc.

Thanks - does this mean you think for example ‘james bond’ are being considered ‘one movie’ in latest added?

I don’t really see the logic here - if I add the latest james bond movie then, would the counter not increment when viewing ‘by date added’?

Yes, it will – unless your latest addition is named ambiguously and thus is recognized as a duplicate of an existing movie.
