When using my atv3 and when I want to watch content from Plex Connect some of the apps show the error " An Error Occured Loading this Content". This also happens when I want to steam music from my library.
A week or 2 ago I bought the Plex iOS app and everything works fine.
Last night i wanted to watch a movie: I tried watching it using the menu on the ATV3 - I get an error "Plex cannot connect"
2 seconds later I go to the same movie but then via the iPad 2 iOS app and the movie starts playing.
I don't why the ATV isn't playing all content from the laptop to the ATV directly?
One more thing....some apps do work directly from ATV3 to the TV (I have some dutch tv channels which work fine(...but apps like SS-Plex don't work directly but with the iPad app it does.
Here's my config:
I have an ATV3
Apple TV Software 5.3
DNS: 192.168.178.12
Plex Connect is installed on a Windows 8 Pro 64bit (not the new Plex app for Win8)
SSPlex works as well with Plexconnect as it does the Plex iOS Client in my experience. Each has had their issues with different sources at different times but overall they both work. I think it is SSPlex and its myriad sources and file types that throw up challenges for either client, which is just the nature of a plugin that does what it does.
SSPlex also relies on the developer's own small server to work, and he admits it is not the most stable server around. Just make sure you have the most up-to-date Plexconnect source and regularly update SSPlex and the Unsupported AppStore. I think that is the best you can do.
Cheers Rockstar - SS-Plex was just an example but how do you explain that a movie from the same source works with the ipad app but not straight from the ATV?
ice movies, nbc, abc are a couple but also accessing my photo's on my local laptop (plex server) won't show directly on via the ATV....but they do when I airstream via the plex app
