# Plex not reading local metadata correctly

Seems it is working in the BETA channel only!

I decided to install the Beta channel out of interest to see if this made any difference as there was a note in the release about more modern metatag management and revised logic…

Suddenly its fixed. Thanks for taking the time to help me out @OttoKerner hopefully you will be able to suggest this to others that are having similar issues to see if it will help them out!?

I made no changes to my settings or my files. I didn’t even do the [Plex Dance](https://forums.plex.tv/t/the-plex-dance/197064), I just went “Manage Library”-\>“Refresh Metadata”

It’s a pity someone from Plex does not acknowledge this issue and make a sticky post to help people out.
