# Plex not seeing new path after folder moved

Have you done the ‘[plex dance](https://forums.plex.tv/t/the-plex-dance/197064)’?

1. Move the affected file/folder to a location where plex can’t see it.
2. Scan for changes in that library.
3. Empty trash for that library.
4. Move the file/folder back.
5. Scan for changes again.
