# Plex partial did not work

Hi guys,

since a few days my server did not perform a partial scan on my library.  
I use Google Drive with Rclone and mergerfs.  
For testing reasons i added a local library with just 2 movies inside to see the partial scan is working.  
But it doesn’t work

root@server:~# ls -l /mnt/testdir/  
drwxrwxrwx 2 root root 4096 Mär 31 11:33 ‘007.Fireball.(1965)’  
drwxrwxrwx 2 root root 4096 Mär 31 11:32 ‘Bad.Boys.2.(2003)’

i increased the sysctl with:  
fs.inotify.max\_user\_watches = 524288

Any ideas ?

inotify does not work across network mounts.

The networking protocols were developed long before inotify was and, unfortunately, those networking protocol haven’t yet been updated to include support for it.
