When you do mobile sync in plex and download to your mobile device, does it download the original file or a transcoded smaller file to the mobile device? Can you choose what type/ resolution you want to download to mobile device?

My movie files are huge bluray rips ~20GB. I don’t want to fill up my ipad storage very quickly.

You pick the quality you want, then it’s transcoded on the server, then downloaded to the device.

I think you can download anywhere, but I’ve never tried it.
