# Plex playing on speaker groups via Amazon Echo devices

\<I was able to play PLEX media over Amazon Echo speaker group. I started by playing IHeart radio station over speaker group, then asked Alexa to ask Plex to play songs…it continued over speaker group. Cant ask Plex to play over speaker group. I’ve been able to recreate this. Has anyone else had this experience?\>

It appears that the API Plex get to use doesn’t give them the option to choose where music is played, and whereas the Echo device used to play on the default speaker group, now it plays on the local device, thus rendering my Plex installation and my Echo Links useless.

I think we’ve known this about a month now and I’m not getting the feeling it’s going to be fixed.

Same problem. Tried the suggestion from the OP but no luck.
