# Plex randomly adding additional artists?

Server Version#: Version 1.43.3.10896

So weirdly, Plex keeps adding artists to individual songs on albums, and I can’t figure out why. The info isn’t coming from the mp3 itself. How would this be happening? Doesn’t make any sense. Example shown, where there are random extra artists on some of the tracks on this Heather Findlay album.

Do you have “Prefer local metadata” checked in the properties of your music library? (Don’t change it yet!)

Did you inspect all the embedded meta tags with a dedicated metadata editor?  
Just looking at the file properties in Windows file explorer won’t show you all.  
Try [mp3tag](http://www.mp3tag.de/en/index.html "mp3tag") for this.
