Hi Any assistance please went through forums and tried to search the exact issue I’m having comes up with similar scenarios but doesn’t get me to the point where remote access remains enabled been struggling for months now with this just can’t seem to get it to stay on checked my UPnP settings on my modem and it is allowing access don’t think its firewall related please any assist will be greatly appreciated.

Running it from TrueNAS plugin IP 192.168.1.11, Windows Server where plex server installed is 192.168.1.20
IP_Info.txt (2.1 KB)

Can you please disable VERBOSE logging?

What’s 192.168.1.4? It has interesting routes.
(I’m confused about 192.168.1.11, .12, .15 as well. Other jails/plugins? Why do they have static routes?)

Is 192.168.1.99 your router? What is it?

Are you sure 192.168.1.11 is your TrueNAS plugin/Plex server’s IP address? Did you make any changes to the Plugin’s network settings? (Is it still DHCP? Is NAT disabled? Any other changes?)

You mentioned 192.168.1.20. Is that another Plex server running on Windows?

And he also doesn’t arp for .20.

@Zari90 From your cellphone on your wifi are you able to open https://192.168.1.20:32400/web ? Your logs say it’s unreachable.

Yes, that’s interesting.

There are log entries referencing 192.168.1.20. It looks like the gateway (192.168.1.99) thinks there’s a Plex server at 192.168.1.20.

I’m guessing that networking settings on the TrueNAS server or plugins & jails have been modified. I’m curious to hear more.

Although his default route is set to .99 and it answered to the SSDP request, it doesn’t support UPnP configuration

NAT: UPnP, not an IGD

@Zari90 tell us more about your devices and topology

Yes please!

Whether it supports UPnP-PCP/IGD or NAT-PMP for configuration, I think it is responding to at least some NAT-PMP requests, and this entry makes me think :32400 is already in use for another device.

DEBUG - NAT: UPnP, possibly usable device <http://192.168.1.99:37215/00e0fc37-2525-2828-2500-d8c7713e380c/upnpdev.xml> with private address <192.168.1.20>.

Hi So my router is a Huawei B618 that shows it is picking up 192.168.1.20, which is the Windows Server where I have Plex Media Server installed, because I pfsense running on 192.168.1.1 the routers default IP is 192.168.1.99 instead
image

the other IPs are 192.18.1.4 which is TrueNas, then 192.168.1.11 is plex, 192.168.1.12 is tautilli, then 192.168.1.15 is Jacket, 192.168.1.16 is sonarr, 192.168.1.17 is radarr, if I change plex to the windows server IP it stops working and if I change the Server IP to 192.168.1.11 plex doesn’t work either.

So this way it works but only on my network outside of the network it stops working the app is accessible via my phone if I’m not on my network but as soon as I fiddle around by remote access it bombs out once I connect to the wifi again and remove it then it works fine which is strange.

there is something I’m doing wrong I just not sure, full confession I’m new to this so I’m trying to see if this works it shows that it should.

Hi Costa to answer you on this yes I am able to reach it via my phone on my wifi and I have the app installed on my phone

Can you clarify a few things? This is an interesting network.

You mention your router is a HUAWEI B618, which is often used for 4G/LTE connections. Are you using it with a mobile connection? Many mobile providers use CGNAT or other technical measures and don’t support user-hosted applications.

In your router, what is the WAN (or mobile/LTE) interface IP address? Does it start with 100.x.x.x? Does it match the IP address listed at https://icanhazip.com/?

Thanks for explaining about the TrueNAS host address and other Jail IP addresses.

I’m a little bit confused about your network topology. What role does PFSense play?

192.168.1.1 - PFSense
192.168.1.99 - Router & Default Gateway

Are you trying to make both Plex servers functional, or just the TrueNAS jail instance?

Yes I am using it with a mobile connection and I already contacted the service provider a few months ago about carrier grade NAT and they said they don’t implement it on their network, also I shutdown pfSense since it gives me issues with my network but originally I had the routers IP moved to 192.168.1.99 and left the firewall off since the router has a built in firewall

So currently I don’t have anything pulling the 192.168.1.1 IP at the moment trying to sort plex out then work around the other things to eliminate the remote access issue, not sure if it is this router that is causing all my issues

I’m trying to get the remote access working at least, whichever is easiest through windows server with the .20 IP or through the Jail .11 IP but with no luck, I’m able to reach plex on both IPs though via my network just not remotely
