There’s a show that Plex pulled the wrong data from (the name is the same). I’ve already used Fix Match to point to the correct show. However, every time the library resyncs, the wrong metadata for that show reverts back.

How can I make the correct metadata stick?

Server Version#: 1.25.6.5577
OS: Windows 10

What show? Which data is correct? What agent are you using for that library? Can you grab the [plex media info](https://support.plex.tv/hc/en-us/articles/201998867-Investigate-Media-Information-and-Formats) xml for one of the incorrect episodes

Here is what the show is supposed to be:

TVDB ID 363024
Name: The Dropout

However, Plex is pulling the metadata for a highly NSFW anime that isn’t even on theTVDB (so I can’t find the ID).

Agents for this Library:

Personal Media Shows

(checked/greyed) Personal Media Shows
(checked) Local Media Assets (TV)

TheTVDB

(checked) Local Media Assets (TV)
(checked/greyed) TheTVDB

The Movie Database

(checked/greyed) The Movie Database

I’ve uploaded the media info XML files for each of the 3 episodes I have of this show (the thumb for the third episode is the only correct one, the first 2 are from the wrong show).

Looking at your xml your library is using the new Plex TV Series agent. Those other things you described are old legacy agent settings that have no bearing on new agent. All the new agent settings are in the advanced settings for the library or the individual show.

The issue which I think is likely the cause of problems is that you appear to have your library set to just look at your downloads folder `D:\Downloads\` then just individual episodes in their own folder. This is very bad for how the agents work. The agents expect each show as a whole to have its own folder and since they don’t every time it scans it is getting confused. The main folder should not be one that is always changing like a downloads folder.

It should be like this where `D:\TV` is the folder added to library. The {tvdb-363024} at the end of show folder is the TVDB ID that the new agent can use to help match the show

`D:\TV\The Dropout (2022) {tvdb-363024}\Season 01\The Dropout (2022) S01E01 whatever info.mkv`

The are apps like Filebot or Sonarr that can batch rename and organize things for you.

more info on what agents are expecting to get a good match can be found here

Thanks for the help!

I noticed Plex was scanning one different duplicate every time, and this made the confusion happen (the TVDB ID was only on one of them).

Cheers!
