I have been having issues with getting my remote access to work. I went into my router and changed some port forwarding, I set up a static IP address. and now it all has made my plex very unreliable. On restart of my computer my Plex will open up normally and access my server and have remote access available. If I have to use my VPN or close plex, when I open my plex again my server is now unavailable and have to restart my computer to use plex again. I am not very good at the technical parts of changing router settings or Ip settings. but trying my best to understand the whole port forwarding and static Ip address. not sure why plex is having this issue.

Can you not use your VPN on this machine?
I always turn off my VPN when using plex. the issue is this is happening without my VPN on. I can boot up my computer open plex and it works, connects to my server and has remote access, if i close my plex immediately and try reopening, it says unavailable, if i go right to remote access and disable and reenable it doesnt work anymore and gives me the unavailable outside my network error and have to restart my computer to get it to work again
Does canyouseeme.org show success for your Port?
yes it shows it is available. which i assume means that my port forwarding in my router worked. But i just disabled my remote access and tried to re-enable it and it says not available, but the open port tool still says available.
just restarted my computer. It is now available. and and allows remote access. I am just confused why it is a one shot deal. if anything changes plex just breaks
The computer you’re having to reboot, is it running your PLEX Server or running on another device? Is the computer connected by LAN or WIFI? What are your port forwarding settings. What is it you’re closing on PLEX, the PLEX Server or the Player Media Player?
I am rebooting my computer that has everything on it, my files, server, media player. My computer is connected by LAN,
this is what i did for port forwarding i have no idea if its correct, i just know that my plex was saying my private address and 32400 after it so i port forwarded 32400. before port forwarding 32400 wasnt open in https://canyouseeme.org/ now it is. I am closing just the media player. If i close the media player and re-open it then it wont find my server anymore. restart my computer and its there. if I disable the remote connection or turn my VPN on then I have to restart my computer so that Plex will allow remote access
