Under the “Settings->Library” section of my Plex Server settings, I have the “Run a partial scan when changes are detected” selected. However, my plex server does NOT automatically run this partial scan when new files are added and, thus, have created a “change” that should be detected. I have to manually click “Update Libraries” in order for the newly added media to be added to my Plex library.
Server version: 1.18.7.2457
OSX: MacOS Catalonia 10.15.3 (19D76)
Any advice would be appreciated to get this setting to work as intended. Please let me know if further information is needed in order to assist. Thank you!
Looking at your question about run a partial Scan, there was an issue with this not so long long ago.
Maybe it has returned, we will see soon enough.
I run Catalina but don’t use that setting, I prefer the Scan my Library automatically. When you look at setting it clearly mentions Folders.
“Your library will be updated automatically when changes to library folders are detected.”
If you have set up your storage directory correctly and used folders for all titles, scanning is very quick.
