Server Version#: latest

Write me a message explaining that I just installed Plex Media Server and that when I click on open Plex, an HTTP instance opens on a page that reloads indefinitely and I can’t do anything. A friend cannot claim his server since today; due to an issue, we removed the server from his account to try to put it back, and currently without success. His server is also running on Windows

1. Disconnect VPN if connected.
Configure it to not connect automatically when the PC reboots.
Do not connect the VPN while trying to claim Plex Media Server.

2. Verify Windows Network Settings
Win 10 (11 will be similar): Settings → Network & Internet → Properties

- Network Profile must be Private, not Public.
- Verify the IP Address and Subnet Prefix are correct.
- Verify the Default Gateway are correct (usually the IP address of your router)
- Configure the server to use public DNS servers: 1.1.1.1 (Cloudflare), 8.8.8.8 (Google), or 9.9.9.9 (Quad9)

1. Reboot the PC

2. Verify connectivity to plex.tv

- Open a Command Prompt window (Win+R, enter CMD)
- nslookup v4.plex.tv
- curl [http://v4.plex.tv](http://v4.plex.tv/)

c:\>nslookup v4.plex.tv
