# Plex server on local network only

Hello,  
I’d like to have a Plex server on a fully local network, meaning this server would be installed and used only under a switch on a lan environment, without internet.  
Is that possible ?

Plex is not able to work permanently without internet access.  
It can handle occasional internet outages, but attempting to operate fully off-line ranges from painful to impossible.

I read on some web site that a workaround is possible disabling the authentication on the Lan and use DLNA.  
Are you aware about that ?

Using Plex only per DLNA is kinda useless. Because everything which makes Plex Plex is not available to a DLNA client. You might as well use something else entirely.
