There’s already two similar suggestions covering what you describe in your post:

1. manually changing the episode numbers / order → [Manually Renumber TV Episodes](https://forums.plex.tv/t/manually-renumber-tv-episodes/469730)
2. fixing individual episodes (w/ matching) → [Fix Individual Episode Matches](https://forums.plex.tv/t/fix-individual-episode-matches/326638)

Unless I’m missing some unique aspect of your suggestion, I suggest you comment/vote in those threads in order to avoid distracting or cannibalizing votes (as a result closing this thread as a duplicate).

Personally I recommend to go with a more “sustainable” approach… if you take the effort to properly sort/name the episodes in the first place, this will also survive a potential server rebuild (while your manual dragging/dropping/renaming will most likely be lost if your database gets fried). In the meantime you can even work with a `.plexmatch` file to fix/adjust the episode association.
