I am starting to wonder too if the Windows store app has been discontinued or not. I do not get why Plex guys cant just clearly say:
yes, we dropped it
we are missing dev so this has been shelved until futher notice
giant space monster came and ate our code or whatever…
I guess there will be some rambling but still better than hanging in the dark…
I saw @BigWheel posting here earlier, maybe he can shed some light on this?
I agree with all you said, but first and foremost, the dev that was originally here helping all the time and has gone MIA…I just hope all is well with his health and family.
I don’t know about this ‘UWP’ or what it really means to windows but I have asked and will follow up on it.
I hope you all realize my understanding of windows pretty much ends after “Did you turn it on?” and “Did you log in?” plus what I remember from the pre-internet days.
I saw windows 10. I loaded it. I erased it even faster than it loaded. It and I are not compatible.
I will try to respond with my limited knowledge:
Please refer to it as Widows store (now microsoft store) plex client.
I am not sure if UWP can refer also to Plex Media Player (Installer downloaded from plex website), so I would avoid mentioning UWP in your query to devs.
I’ve reached out to both teams and management for info. I am 90% certain of one but only 10% of the other. I am trying to get both at 100% verified before I share. I don’t want to say the wrong thing. This is too important.
I’m amazed and pleased to find out that there are actually “teams” working on the Windows App(s?). And disappointed that they haven’t shown up in this forum.
They come into the forum to read and pick up data from threads. If they spent time engaging in the forum, it would take time away from them developing. True?
Very true, but considering there haven’t been any developments in the app since May it doesn’t appear as if much of either is going on
We really appreciate you using your time to find out the info for us though.
The last roku update took 8 months before it was seen. Until I get definitive word, there is no knowing if the same is, or isn’t, happening with the Windows app.

Thanks for the update. I think most of our frustration and anger comes from the fact that while we get it takes this ling for some updates, this app pretty much doesn’t work as is and there has been no acknowledgement of it.

That is my main issue. Given that these forums (and ninja’s) are the only way to get support, I would have liked at least some form of acknowledgement, either a yes, we know this is an issue' or we are working on an update’ or at least some kind of assistance. Silence is not good. I’ve seen KinoCharlino pop in a few times in other threads as a kind of `community manager’ but only after the privacy ■■■■ hit the fan big time. Why wait until things escalate that much?

To get back to everyone following along.
I have learned there two parts.
Windows Mobile
Windows App Store

OK, over a week has passed since this message.
Any update from management and/or the development team?
No, there has been nothing officially stated by management to me at this point.
When I do receive word, I will forward it here as I have done for other threads in the past.
Please do. At least some form of update would be appreciated.
Have to say, the Emby windows 10 app got updated several times since this thread was opened and even though sync is a lot less elegant, at least it works without any issues.
@ChuckPA , sorry for being a pain, but two weeks should be enough timeframe to get a confirmation if there is actually any development on Windows store Plex client or not.
