I’m wondering why the Plex app is now skipping certain tracks when I’m playing an album or have it on random play. It doesn’t seem to be a format problem, because it will play most songs on an album in the same format, but not others. I can play the song that it skips if actually click on it. Kind of annoying. Any suggestions? ---

This has also been happening to me, for over a month now. Happens on all platforms. I only play in shuffle and album view so I don’t know if it happens outside of that, but it happens consistently in those modes. Sometimes Plex will instantly skip forward two tracks at the end of a song. Sometimes it’ll only skip one. Sometimes it’ll play ~10 seconds or so of a track before skipping. But no matter what tracks are getting skipped, constantly. Started seemingly at random (Not after any update or anything). Version 2.10.5 / Debian Linux. ---

I’ve been having what sounds like the exact same problem for at least a few months now. If I play an album through Plex, every other track plays a couple of seconds and then skips to the next track, which usually then plays normally. Version 2.13.0 running on Ubuntu 16.04, playing through the web client. (Just checked, and on a fairly quick test it doesn’t seem like it is happening through the Android client on my phone.) ---

Further checking – I just listened to an entire album each on my Android phone and my iPad, with no skipping. I’ve running the web client now as a comparison, and upon finishing track 1, it played the first few each seconds of track 2 and track 3, then it skipped to track 4, and I don’t think I’ve heard a complete track since? Swapping clients so I can listen to this album and maintain what’s left of my sanity. ---

So, the Plex web client demanded I update my server this week. It turned out my server was running 1.0.0, and the client thought I should have 1.3.4. So I updated to 1.3.4 (in the middle of playing an album via plex on my phone, with no audible interruption, very nice!) and while I haven’t tested it exhaustively yet, on a quick try it seems like the skipping bug has disappeared. Yay! ---

Glad its worked out for somebody. I gave up on plex. Just too many little annoying bugs. It costs, but everything works perfectly on Spotify. Later… ---
