It would be nice if the downloads in the PlexAmp app had more sorting options. I much prefer the way the Plex app sorts by artist, then by album. It makes it easier to find things. Perhaps you could include that for the PlexAmp app? Just a thought. Another feature that would be nice is the ability to manually sort my albums/singles/compilations/etc. Cuz if it’s not in your system, it doesn’t get sorted right. And I have a lot of bootlegs. ---

After overriding the relase type with a metatag, you may need to 1. Refresh Metadata of the album 2. optimize the Plex database manually or let pass the nightly maintenance period before the fruit of your labor will appear. ---

It’s just not sorting the way I’m trying to set it to. I’m setting the “releasetype” as compilation, or live, and they’re still showing up in albums. ---

I’ve done all that, and it’s been well over a month now, and it’s still not taking the “releasetype” tag I set for the files. ---

I don’t think that the release type tag has any influence on the Downloads section in Plexamp. ---

Yeah, I’ve realized that. It would be nice if PlexAmp downloads could be sorted by artist, so it’s not such a clutter. That’s a suggestion more so, and not the issue I want to focus on. My issue is trying to organize my library. Everything gets put as albums, where it should be going as compilations and live albums. There is no easy way to manually put that information in through the website. I was recommended an app, and while it does allow me to add a release type, Plex isn’t recognizing it. In order to have some sense of organization, I was having to mismatch albums so at least they would go under the right category, but that’s not really a solution. I can see it being a problem down the line. I’m not exactly computer savvy either, so I’m sure the problem is me. But I don’t really know what exactly I’m doing wrong. Edit: I’ve updated the title and tags, sorry I didn’t realize I had it under PlexAmp ---

You are only setting the primary releasetype, but not the secondary. It is explained in the first link above, that you need to set the releasetype as `album;compilation` ---
