All of a sudden Plex is stopping in the middle of a show multiple times and jumping to the next episode. Is anyone else having this issue?
Which player are you using? and what version number of server
Version 1.23.6 is on my Qnap device.
It must be a Plex issue as when I watch the media via Infuse I never have this issue .
Any suggestions?
I just updated to version 1.24.0.4930 and the issue remains.
which player are you using?
I use a player downloaded on Apple TV for one TV and download the app via the Samsung TV for that TV. The jump forward happens on both apps.
Does anyone have any ideas why this is happening? When I use other players there are no issues, it’s purely a Plex issue.
Possible to get the server and player logs right after it happens?
How do I do that? Sorry I’m not that much or a technical wizard.
Here are logs from Apple TV (7.23 (1006)) and PMS (v1.24.2.4973-2b1b51db9).
The playback of Camp Cretaceous S03E01 starts around 09:17 on Sept. 5th. It stops mid playback and jumps to S03E02 at 09:25. What’s worse is that after it happens I seem to have to restart both PMS and the Apple TV App in order to play anything again. The end of the TV logs should show this behavior.
Have Plex “Analyze” the show. Analysis most likely should happen automatically, but maybe it got skipped. I think it ought to determine the video length, which tells Plex when an episode ends. If the analysis wasn’t done, then perhaps it makes the file end early and start the next episode.
*deleted suggestion about filenames being incorrect. Logs show correct naming scheme.
@londonpanther any chance your PMS is behind a HTTP proxy? I’ve found that it I expose it directly it seems to work fine, but behind Traefik or cloudflared it does this bad behavior.
On top of stopping part way through an episode it also won’t let me seek back to where I was, or will start an episode over instead of resuming.
