Plex Sync - Does it upscale if a higher quality option is chosen

Hi All

I’ve noticed recently that it is possible to choose a higher quality than what the original video is.

My question is does it (unnecessarily) upscale the video resolution or does it limit based on what the original file is?

It respects the original resolution and bitrate. No unnecessary upscaling.
