# Plex transcode sound drops for mp4 files

hi,

&nbsp;

I'm trying to figure out why my sound stops working after a couple of secs of playing.

&nbsp;

First I though that it was trying to get a to large quality, so I lowerd it to the follwoing settings:

http://ip:32400/video/:/transcode/universal/start.m3u8?path=http%3A%2F%2Fip%3A32400%2Flibrary%2Fmetadata%2F3&mediaIndex=0&partIndex=0&protocol=hls&offset=0&fastSeek=0&directPlay=0&directStream=0&videoQuality=50&videoResolution=640%C3%97360&maxVideoBitrate=4000&subtitleSize=0&audioBoost=75&X-Plex-Client-Identifier=143bbaa3-7463-4a74-90c4-096ef204b6d6&X-Plex-Product=VideoDrive&X-Plex-Device=Windows&X-Plex-Platform=Chrome&X-Plex-Platform-Version=40.0&X-Plex-Version=2.3.3&X-Plex-Device-Name=VideoDrive&Accept-Language=en
```

this was for a mp4, but then I played a wmv, it worked just fine with audio.

Anyone has a clue why this isn't playing correclty?

Have you had any responses? I am experiencing a similar issue where the audio on a direct play mp4 simply stops. I have to hit back and ok to get sidi back. This is on win 8.1 8 proc 16gb ram
