Plex Web app not recognizing subfolders on NAS when creating new library folder

I just updated to the latest PMS on my Synology NAS to 1.16.5.1552 yesterday. As of today, I am unable to get Plex web app to recognize the files I want to upload to the library. I had no problems prior to this update and now all of a sudden after the update, Plex Web app no longer recognizes files on the NAS volumes. I have 2 volumes on my NAS and I am unable to get Plex web app to recognize files so that I can upload them to the library. When I click on the volume and the “movies” or “photos” folder, it is blank and no files are listed. Any help would greatly be appreciated!

Check out this thread. It discusses some security changes made for PMS on Synology, their implications, and how to work in the new environment:

Thanks for the reply! I actually was just about to post that my question was resolved. I found that exact same topic you just posted. All I needed to do was give the new user “Plex” permission to read from the NAS drives. Problem solved and Plex is back to functioning as it should! The “Plex” user didn’t show up because I hadn’t restarted the Synology server after updating PMS. Once restarted, user “Plex” showed up and I just gave permission and Plex works just fine now. Thanks again!
