Plex will not run

My plex is not working. Click on Plex on my computer and the icon comes up on my task bar. As soon as I move my curser to it , it disappears. Over and over again. I can not get it to open.
I try it on my phone and I just get a blank Plex page. I wait it out and finally get the message that it can not connect.
What next? Is Plex having problems right now?

Royal Ottmar I forgot to mention that I have scanned my computer with Glarysoft registry cleaner and rebooted my computer and phone with the same results.
I have a lifetime membership with Plex. This is the first real problem I have had with it

I finally got to my page on the web and made sure I was signed in. ALL my movies, pictures and audio files are gone! They are still on my computer but not on Plex. All my settings are gone.

I have the plex server icon on my computer but it still disappears if I put the curser on it. T

let’s share some details…
which version of Windows do you have installed on the machine running your Plex server?
which version of the Plex media Server do you have installed.

it’s definitely not a general issue… I hope you “cleaning” the registry hasn’t corrupted anything for your setup…

I have windows 10 on my computer. I do not have any idea what version of Plex I am running because it will not let me open it up.
I look at the file and it says it was updated on 4-6-18

Ihe problem has been going on for several days, that I noticed and I only did the registry scan a couple hours ago.

to check if it’s just an issue with the task bar…
can you access your Plex server when typing e.g. https://127.0.0.1:32400/web in the address bar of your browser (e.g. Chrome, Firefox… not necessarily Edge).

if not… let’s take a look at your logs.
as Plex isn’t running you cannot simply download them through the server settings (Settings > Server > Help > Download Logs) but need to look for them manually.
Here’s a support article describing how to find those logs in Windows: https://support.plex.tv/articles/200250417-plex-media-server-log-files/

the %LOCALAPPDATA% part refers to a path in your home folder (usually C:\Users\<your user name>\App Data\; this folder is hidden by default). You’ll find lots of files… best go for Plex Media Server.log and attach it with your response to this post.
