# Plexamp 4.50.19, Linux, Error 71 (Protocol error) dispatching to Wayland display

I had been using the latest version from flatpak 4.13.2, which obviously is much older but it did run without issue.

```auto
OS: CachyOS
Kernel: Linux 7.2.6-1-cachyos
DE: KDE Plasma 6.7.5
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 Ti

```

Updating to the 4.50.19 using flatpak or the appimage throws:

```auto
Gdk-Message: 11:56:05.285: Error 71 (Protocol error) dispatching to Wayland display.

```

Some googling shows this is not an unknown error and there are a few of workarounds for it. It appears to be a Nvidia issue only and my current solution to make it run without issue is setting this env variable for plexamp.

```auto
__NV_DISABLE_EXPLICIT_SYNC=1

```

And it now works as expected again. Posting this as a workaround and maybe there’s a solution that can be implemented.
