Ive got my music pretty organised and the metadata is in line with how plex wants it. I have 500+ hiphop albums but when I go on a Sonic adventure or when I select hiphop radio feature it always plays the same tracks with the occasional new track. There are a lot of albums it never plays, which I would like it to play.
And then there are the same artists that it selects. Kinda over listening to my MF DOOM collection (yeah doom is dope but come on plexamp give me some newish dope) being played. Sometimes it only plays MF DOOM every second track.
Yeah I agree. Perfect example, I have the whole discography of A Tribe Called Quest, a pretty popular and legendary group. I never ever get any tribe tracks at all. I do get a lot of De La Soul and its always the same tracks from the same albums. Now both Tribe and De La are from the same school, especially the later albums…but never get tribe playing. But I always get DOOM in my sonic adventures. I also get a lot of J-Live and Ice-Cube/NWA/Digital Underground. And The Beatnuts. My collection features Wu but it never plays WU Tang. Now and then a public enemy track. But DOOOOOM all the time. I have a diverse collection from '79-2005. Never plays anything from early 80s. But yep, DOOOOOOM all the time.
Wouldnt the Sonic Adventure or similar tracks feature be a lot easier due to the make up of hip-hop (I’m talking about old school jazzy sample heavy era) but then it matches MF DOOM and madlib stuff.
Actually, I misspoke, server logs after starting a repetitive play would be great. But please make sure you have latest server agent, haven’t disabled popularity, etc…
