# Plexamp not integrating into system media playback

Player Version#: 4.3.0

Hi all,

I’ve noticed for a little while now Plexamp doesn’t appear to be detected by Windows as a media player. My keyboard media keys are able to control it provided it’s the most recent source of media, however it doesn’t appear in the Windows 11 notification area / media playback toast when changing volume as it used to. Similarly there are no exposed playback controls in the Windows taskbar as there typically are for media playback applications.

This feature used to be a part of Plexamp. Anyone know if it’s ever coming back?

almost certainly at some point, we haven’t had luck finding a good library to integrate with that.
