# Plexamp on OpenSuSE Tumbleweed?

Server Version#: Version 4.81.1 from PlexMediaServer-1.26.2.5797-5bd057d2b-x86\_64.qpkg  
Player Version#: Plexamp-4.2.1.AppImage  
  
PMS is running on QNAP TVS-872XT  
PlexAmp works on Android phone and on Windows. I can’t get it to even start on Linux, which is my primary desktop OS.

After having set executable permissions on the AppImage, trying to run it by clicking the file appears to do nothing. Advanced Permissions shows X for Owner, Owning Group, and Others.

From konsole, I have tried this:

> ./Plexamp-4.2.1.AppImage

> libva error: vaGetDriverNameByIndex() failed with unknown libva error, driver\_name = (null)  
> [5979:0523/131020.649754:FATAL:gpu\_data\_manager\_impl\_private.cc(415)] GPU process isn’t usable. Goodbye.  
> Trace/breakpoint trap (core dumped)

Why doesn’t it work?

From YaST2 I found and installed:

appmenu-gtk-module-common  
appmenu-gtk2-module  
appmenu-gtk3-module

> ./Plexamp-4.2.1.AppImage

Searching for help on the errors has not helped. Any ideas?

I have also installed these along with all their dependencies:

appmenu-gtk2-module-debuginfo  
appmenu-gtk3-module-debuginfo  
libappmenu-gtk-parser-deve  
libappmenu-gtk2-parser-devel  
libappmenu-gtk2-parser0-debuginfo  
libappmenu-gtk3-parser-devel  
libappmenu-gtk3-parser0-debuginfo

No change.

Try adding “–disable-gpu-sandbox” when you run plexamp.
