have observed the same when routing audio via USB and spdif thru a HAT … and I’ve seen this with plexamp on other non-pi platforms (mac) … in my case I’m sure sample rate switching is working as expected

FWIW, my DAC that I have connected to the pi via USB displays the frequency and it is switching from track to track to the correct frequency for each file I’m playing.

Pretty sure it’s just a display issue, the UI doesn’t have visibility into output reconfiguration.

I’ve been building and using this to see the actual device parameters.
