# Plexamp Skipping and Not download correctly

Hi,
Not sure if anyone else has this, I’ve got my plex server running on a Windows 10 machine and running plex amp from a iPhone 14 Pro Max, when downloading tracks onto the app and playing them back quite often they skip and repeat, sometimes you have to download 3 or 4 times or more to get a correct copy, any one else had this and know of away to give more reliable downloads from the server to your app?

Hi Mike, it should be totally reliable, not sure what “skip and repeat” means exactly, does it sound like a corruption of the media file, or skipping like going to the next track?

Hi,
Sorry maybe my description was not the best, what I mean is that it’s like digital skipping for example while playing it will sound like the CD is skipping and sometimes repeats the same section a few times like the last 2-3 seconds of a track. When I listen to the non downloaded track it seems fine so can only think it’s to do with either my server or the software and the way it transports?
If you need any more examples or sound clips let me know and I’ll try to supply some.

Hmm, that should not happen, I’m not familiar with any reports of this. Are you casting the audio somewhere from your phone?

Various, tried to car play, air pod pro’s and locally though phone can get the same results, as I say it’s not constant sometimes downloading the same items work without issue so I’m pretty sure the issue is not at the source, the other thing I’m wondering is if the server streaming or downloading it is clogged would that cause this or do you do error checking of the chunks to make sure they are correct?

Everything is sent over using reliable methods, only possibility for corruption is disk at source.

Yes I agree it seems that way but as I say I can play using Plex on my home PC and it plays fine, also the same track can get corrupt on one download then work fine the second or third time. Maybe the issue is more on the server side and how it’s working, it sits on a Windows 10 computer at this time.
