# PLEXAMP to allow play by FOLDER

Hi PLEX,

Recent convert and absolutely loving PLEX  
I have plexpass.  
I would like to request you to PLEASE PLEASE add feature that allows music to be played by folder.  
There is no option for this and I feel that this would be a simple fix?  
I tried through playlist and there is no way to add folders to playlist at present  
I am using Mac, ios and android.

Welcome to the forum.  
As you’re using Plex, you’ll notice that Plex is primarily using your file names / directories to match files to artists and albums. Your folder organization isn’t a focus when it comes to navigating/browsing or playing that media.

The problem I have is that some of the music I have is in a folder where i keep adding music to, is bhangra music, so plex probably struggles to box it into a specific genre/ mood or other such criteria. The songs are by different artists and i generally organise them into folders of about a 100 songs through the year as I download, get about 4 folders a year. I have been doing this for the last 10 years, so there is a lot of music.  
My current app on the phone (AIMP) is excellent, it allows me to pick a folder and play from there.  
I miss that ability on PLEX, which I am enjoying otherwise.

My request is that folder organisation does not appear to be a focus, but it will be great if it were. It is a valuable feature and there are many users who would like this feature. There is whole reddit thread on this as well.
