Hi,

I have a problem! Having followed the guides from github ad verbatim to set up the connection with my win8 laptop, i got it working and was happily enjoying it for the last couple of months.

But yesterday when i tried to connect to my PMS from my ATV, it didn't work, saying "unable to access trailers".

I've searched other threads and tried doing what has worked for others but I am at a loss. To my inexperienced eyes, when I look at the CMD window running python (logs on pastebin here: [http://pastebin.com/AWGtaBwS](http://pastebin.com/AWGtaBwS) ) and compare to what github tutorial shows, it seems PlexGDM is not starting, or discovering my server.

I have re-checked my windows firewall port permissions allow all ports for python.exe, PMS is running with GDM enabled, the ATV manual DNS settings are correct, but it still won't connect. I haven't changed anything that the github tutorial didn't tell me to.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance!

That log is everything you got?

The call to PlexGDM is later now - once you actually clicked on the trailers button. But then you first need to see some DNS activity - like "forward to ..." and "intercepting".

In your log, there is no indication of any DNS request to PlexConnect...

Let me ask you that: The other aTV services are running, just trailers is not? Highly impossible from my point of view... if you don't have another instance of PlexConnect running somewhere else/storing a more detailed log. Please check for that - and the DNS setting in your aTV.

Thanks Baa. I've checked what you've suggested - netflix and youtube both work (as per this log: [http://pastebin.com/BtjG1LZU](http://pastebin.com/BtjG1LZU)) but trailers still does not. although there is some progress with a dns request when i click on trailers. is this now something to do with my PMS?

Thanks f00b4r.

Unfortunately I've tried it again and seem to be back where I started, with not even a dns request: [http://pastebin.com/Uf7t6EFf](http://pastebin.com/Uf7t6EFf)

No other atv service works. I've tried checking for any other instances of Python but couldn't see any; even tried restarting laptop a few times to ensure nothing was running in the background.

any ideas?

Has your laptop’s IP changed? Check it is the same as the DNS set on the ATV.

Can you show detailed screens for the firewall rule you set up, ideally this should be everything outbound for Python.exe as doing it by ports can miss some.

Also reboot the ATV between changes to remove any cached DNS stuff.

Here are the two outbound rules - one for TCP, one for UDP, allowing all ports. i have similar ones for inbound too. I have tried rebooting ATV but no help.

I have no idea... but this log suggests, that your aTV runs fine in general.

Requests to "trailers" get intercepted correctly by the DNS server part.

But then the following request to PlexConnect:443 is just missing. This happens with firewalls - which you rules out, or with bad certs - which you ruled out as well, as it was working in the month before, right?

Then we have this message, telling that the DNS part is not working at all...

So, what is the issue now? Are we stuck at 1) 15Mar or 2) 16Mar?

Unfortunately back to 15mar. Yes it was all working fine last month. And somehow on 16mar it went a bit further but now back a step it seems. (And the only thing i did between the two was to restart my laptop to ensure no other instances of plexconnect were running)

Any ideas anyone? I am really stuck. Should i try and start from scratch and if what do i need to clear that will matter?

15Mar?

So DNS requests are captured by PlexConnect. ATV is usable in general (only the intercepted trailers gets stuck). Right?

From my point of view, this is not "unfortunately". About a third of PlexConnect is running already. :-)

Brings me back to my diagnosis: Most likely the certs...

- You have the correct OPENSSL installed (suitable to your OS)?

- When generating the certs, you didn't see error messages?

- When installing new certs (for your trials), you made sure to delete the old once first?

PM me your generated files... I could try if they are working correctly on my setup - just to rule out those.

Are you able to post an updated log (with loglevel=High). I would like to double-check that nothing else broke...
