Just be aware that channels aren't ever added on any of the Plex clients, they are added on the Plex Media server.
You may struggle to get them working if you do not have enough CPU to transcode.
Just to let you all know i'm back to square one. Frontview crashed and reinstall os has killed PlexConnect :(

i was after some help installing plex connect on a readynas 516. ive done a git clone but i cant get plex connect to start as i believe ports 80 and 53 are already in use on this nas so some explination of port redirecting would be great too
any help would be much appreciated

BTW:
With the latest commit of PlexConnect the update procedure of the addon (without getting a new bin file) should be as simple as:
cd /etc/frontview/addons/bin/PLEXCONNECT/PlexConnect env GIT_SSL_NO_VERIFY=true git pullIt could be good if someone could feedback me whether this alternate update method works :rolleyes:

followed the instructions but cant get it to work :( my DNS server isnt working propperly somehow, i see nothing but computer and settings.
i run a readynas ultra 2, OS is debian 4

DNS working propperly now but it is not intercepting the trailers. log doesnt show anything new....
with PMS 9.7.22 it shows green all the time, on 9.8 it doesnt so i downgraded, still no trailers working as it should :(

installed python, then the addon for plexconnect. DNS are working correct, but trailers shows nothing

What do I need to use to update your bin file that I uploaded on 31/7/2013 to latest git for plexconnect?
I tried using putty but I don't know what I am doing, that is why I used your bin file and uploaded through front view on my readynas in the first place.
any help would be greatly appreciated.

To use ssh from Windows you can use the putty software.

Hi mindsmonk, Have you configured the DNS settings of your Apple TV so it points to PlexConnect ? (192.168.178.15 in your case)
woohooo with a downgrade from PMS to non plexpass it works! cheers mate, needed a full reinstall plus the DNS!

I have created a new bin file. I will look also to the possibility to create a bin that update itself.
Cannot test that update since Apple TV trailer seems not to work with PlexConnect today according to other posts from the forum

Apparently there is a fix out there, but can't make it work as I fail to make the port forwarding with SSL (443 is used by readynas already)
So this is the End with ReadyNAS and Plexconnect?
