I'm installing PlexConnect on my host computer running Win7. Under the installation guide for Windows everything is going fine until step 4 where I run "plexconnect.py". When I double click the python file I can see the command window open and it runs something, but the window closes automatically before I have a chance to look at it. What do I need to do? I've searched this topic, and all I can find are suggestions to change the program to add a pause at the end to require the user to hit a key before closing the program, but I wasn't able to save the changes. If you can't tell already I've never done anything with scripts and programming, so please be gentle and patient. Thanks

Read PlexConnect.log. It will give you a "port in use" or "certificate not found" or something.

For debugging: Don't run PlexConnect by double-click, open a cmd window, "cd" to PlexConnect's dir, and run it manually. That way you won't miss an error message (which should be the same as in the log... :-)

Please forgive my ignorance. I could not find the PlexConnect.log. When running the command manually does it matter if I open Python's command window or go through cmd.exe and go to C:\Python27\python? Also what exactly do I type in to get the .py file to run? I've tried the directory, but I must be missing something. The location of the PlexConnect.py file is "C:\Program Files (x86)\PlexConnect-master". Thanks again

in a cmd window type...

```
cd "C:\Program Files (x86)\PlexConnect-master"
python PlexConnect.py
```

Hm. That should work. As long as python is installed correctly.

You might be able to even skip "python" in the second line... not quite sure with Windows.

Thanks for your help. I got everything set up, but I'm having a new problem, whenever I enter the trailers app a message saying trailers is unavailable... but if I can't figure it out I will start another thread. Thanks again

I'm having the same issue. I can get it to run and stay open through CMD but can't just by running plex connect. Its saying No PIL/Pillow?

I've been running plex for a year or so now this way. Just upgraded the PC and reloaded everything the same way and its not happy. Still running the same version of Win 7 as before.

Edit: Its working if i run through CMD and i am able to use plex etc. Just wanting too see why i can't just run plex connect directly. :(

Edit: Sorted. Just moved the folder out of Program Files.

Hi! I have the same issue. I can only start Plexconnect through CMD and not the Plexconnect folder. This creates extra time for me…

Any ideas here? 🙂
