I'm running Ubuntu Gnome Edition 13.10 and I've followed every thread i can find on installing. I'm using the PPA method and I have all the PPA's I'm suppose to have installed. I keep getting this:

```
Some packages could not be installed. This may mean that you have
requested an impossible situation or if you are using the unstable
distribution that some required packages have not yet been created
or been moved out of Incoming.
The following information may help to resolve the situation:
The following packages have unmet dependencies:
plexhometheater : Depends: libcec (\>= 2.1)
E: Unable to correct problems, you have held broken packages.
```

I have no idea where to go. I've tried manually installing libcec and it says:

```
Some packages could not be installed. This may mean that you have
requested an impossible situation or if you are using the unstable
distribution that some required packages have not yet been created
or been moved out of Incoming.
The following information may help to resolve the situation:
The following packages have unmet dependencies:
libcec : Depends: libcec2 (= 2.1.4-4~saucy) but it is not going to be installed
E: Unable to correct problems, you have held broken packages.
```

libcec2 says:

```
Some packages could not be installed. This may mean that you have
requested an impossible situation or if you are using the unstable
distribution that some required packages have not yet been created
or been moved out of Incoming.
The following information may help to resolve the situation:
The following packages have unmet dependencies:
libcec2 : Depends: libudev0 (\>= 0.140) but it is not installable
E: Unable to correct problems, you have held broken packages.
```

And finally libudev0 says:

```
Package libudev0 is not available, but is referred to by another package.
This may mean that the package is missing, has been obsoleted, or
is only available from another source
E: Package ‘libudev0’ has no installation candidate
```

Any ideas? I'd really like to get this setup so I can test it out before I decide what OS I want to use on my HTPC build. I'd prefer Linux, but it's dependent on this.

If you go to the [PPA for PlexHT](https://launchpad.net/~plexapp/+archive/plexht) and click "Technical details about this PPA", you will see a list of dependencies at the bottom.

You need to add these as well, so here's what should be the complete ordeal to install from the terminal:

```
sudo apt-add-repository ppa:plexapp/plexht
sudo apt-add-repository ppa:jon-severinsson/ffmpeg
sudo apt-add-repository ppa:pulse-eight/libcec
sudo apt-add-repository ppa:team-xbmc/xbmc-nightly
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install plexhometheater
```

I had all those added and it was causing a ton of problems. I disabled all the extra ppas last night and let the system sit while I was at work today. Came home and enable my vlc ppa, plexht, nathan-renniewaldock/xbmc-build-deps and jon-severinsson/ffmpeg. Did an apt-get update, upgrade and install plexhometheater. It install without an issue and is working.

I'm also having an issue installing PHT on Ubuntu 13.10.

The following packages have unmet dependencies.
plexhometheater : Depends: libcec (\>= 2.1)
E: Unable to correct problems, you have held broken packages.

It ends up being a dependency on libudev0 (\>=140) which isn't eligible for installation.

Can anyone help?

The issues seems to be with the repo

```
deb http://www.deb-multimedia.org wheezy main non-free
```

Disabling that one solved my issues.

That may have been it. I think I disabled that repo when I did the rest.

Removing it, solved by issues with LinuxMint 17 and the libcec install error
