PlexPy issue - twice now it has stopped connecting to server and only a reinstall has corrected it.

I love PlexPy, love the stats it gives me and how it is setup. Only problem is twice now it has stopped working, as in it can’t find the server or something (unfortunately I didn’t write down what the message was, just something about it couldn’t connect) and no amount of attempting to re-establish connection with tokens and the like has worked. I would just have to erase the directory and reinstall it. Problem is I lose all the data.

My question is how do I back up this data (you know, user views, media file views, the stats) so I can delete folder, reinstall PlexPy and then put the data file back?

Hey. For future reference I suggest posting in the official PlexPy thread: https://forums.plex.tv/discussion/169591/plexpy-another-plex-monitoring-program#latest - you’re more likely to get answers there.

Now that I have seen this post though, you should post your plexpy.log file when you experience these issues, there may be useful information in there to debug the problem.

You also do not need to delete everything. To restore your old data you just copy the plexpy.db file over to the new installation and all your watch history will still be accessible. Just make sure that you don’t have PlexPy running at the time when you do this.

Ok thank you!
