Plex is crashing the second I launch it. It shows up in the menu bar for a split second and then disappears again. I renamed ‘~/Application Support/Plex Media Server’ to generate a fresh install and that fixes the crashing issue. The problem is that my plex folder is about 100GB and I’d prefer not to generate/download that metadata all over again. Is it possible to repair the old install? On what version of macOS are you experiencing this? Did you already have a look at the [server log](https://support.plex.tv/articles/200250417-plex-media-server-log-files/) files if the e.g. show some [database corruption](https://support.plex.tv/articles/repair-a-corrupted-database/)? ---

I appear to be having the same issue. I also want to preserve my library : ) Server Version#: 1.24.0.4897-411e7667f MacOS: 12.0 Mavericks public beta 4 (at the time, currently public beta 5) First time digging into the logs, but this looks like the relevant bit: ERROR - SQLITE3:(nil), 14, cannot open file at line 38480 of [1b256d97b5] ERROR - SQLITE3:(nil), 14, os\_unix.c:38480: (2) open(/Users/null/Library/Application Support/Plex Media Server/Plug-in Support/Databases/com.plexapp.plugins.library.db-shm) - No such file or directory ERROR - SQLITE3:(nil), 14, unable to open database file in “PRAGMA cache\_size=2000” ERROR - Database corruption: sqlite3\_statement\_backend::prepare: unable to open database file for SQL: PRAGMA cache\_size=2000 Looking in the /Databases directory and, indeed, the com.plexapp.plugins.library.db-shm file is not there. There are also not any backed up versions of that file to swap in. ---

Restoring from a backup from a few days ago per [these instructions](https://support.plex.tv/articles/202485658-restore-a-database-backed-up-via-scheduled-tasks/) does seem to get the server running again, so that’s better, anyway, although I’ve lost a few days worth of data. ---
