PMS(Linux) Version 1.31.3.6819 crashing after server migration

I was getting some OS and drive issues on my server so I installed Ubuntu 22.04 to a new SSD, installed Plex and then moved the entire /var/lib/plexmediaserver from the old drive. It started up okay but it has crashed a couple of times randomly. The last time that it crashed was at 6:01:07, no one was watching anything at the time.

I attached a zip file that contains the downloaded logs and the dmp file.

Just weighing in since I’m having the same problem. I moved to a clean install of 22.04 to escape some random crashing and I’m not sure it helped. Same experience with the server crashing, even when nobody is streaming anything.

Have you turned off the credit detection as suggested in some of the other threads? Or increasing the duration of the scheduled tasks? They seem to have helped some, but not all, people reporting the random crashes.

Since posting this the crashes have become much further apart. I think I have had 1 or 2 in the past week. I haven’t messed with any of my settings but I might try turning off post credit scene detection and see if it removes the crashes completely.

Had plex server also crash for me today. Was just browsing the music library using the linux plex client. Plex is pretty much stable and its very rare I ever see a crash. Crash dmp attached in case anyone from development wants to review …

Plex is running on physical hardware running Ubuntu 22.04.2 LTS x86_64, Intel i7-9750H (12) @ 4.500GHz, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 Mobile & 32GB RAM.

ALL plex heavy CPU tasks are DISABLED

would need server debug logs for the time of the crash to add context and establish what media files were involved

Logs are overwritten at this point but noted for future reference.

The crash was whilst running an SQLITE3 query on the DB during Scheduled Task Periodic Metadata Refresh and the last activity in the logs relate to collections

If this keeps on happening - would like fresh logs and crash dump and also download of the database - you can send the database zip by PM

The last activity in the log were relating to The Sandlot Collection
