PMS not recognizing other HDD than C:

Server Version#: 1.14.0.5470

Hi All,

I just installed the PMS again, but the thing is it is not recognizing the other HDD that I have in the Desktop, only C is available. Any guess how to solve this? Thank you so much for your help in advance

What do you mean by “recognize”?
Does the second drive appear in the Windows file explorer?
Is it an encrypted drive which only becomes available after you put in a password?
Are you running Plex server as a Windows system service?

Hi,

Whenever I try to create a library only C appears in the list of paths to explore.
No those not encrypted.
No I do not need a password to access them.
I do not believe that Plex Server is running as a system service.

Thank you so much for your reply, apologies for my lack of inputs, but I’m no really sure what to do, this is the first time that this happened and since it is from the start of the installation. If you need something else that could help clear this out, let me know.

When you reach this dialog during the library creation, try to simply type in (or paste) the drive letter and folder name of your media:

Hi,

I tried that, but when I create the library, it says EMPTY LIBRARY, I copied the path from Windows File Explorer. And I tried different paths, but none worked, it only shows empty library at the end.

Not sure if this could mean that somehow, Plex is not recognizing absolute paths, which windows explorer does, I read something about mount drives or something like that in UBUNTU, but since I’m using Windows 10, I guess the issue should be corrected in other manner. Will keep on looking, if you have any more ideas, those would be very much appreciated, thank so much for your time.

Hi,

I solved it.

I uninstalled PMS, revoke ownership of the HDD through CMD, restarted the PC, took ownership of all HDD again, installed PMS and it worked.

Thank you so much for your suppport.

Best Regards
