So I am not completely tech savvy. As far as I know nothing changed on my computer. When I got to my computer today, PMS was not running. When I clicked to open it, it opens briefly then immediately closes. I tried restarting the computer. I have since also updated to macOS 27 and still nothing.

The information below is from ~/Library/Logs/Plex Media Server

That’s hust showing that Plex attempted to report the crash dump.

If the Plex Media Server won’t start and doesn’t even get to the stage where it’ll be writing to the [server logs](https://support.plex.tv/articles/200250417-plex-media-server-log-files/) (beyond that snippet), you can attempt the following procedure to see if there’s any error messages on the OS level:

1. Open Finder and navigate to `/Applications`
2. Select `Show Content` from the context menu of the `Plex Media Server.app` item
3. Navigate to `Contents/MacOS`
4. Open the `Terminal` app
5. Drag the `Plex Media Server` executable from the Finder window (#3) into the Terminal Window and press `Return` to execute it

This is no different from running the app, so it won’t succeed – but you should get a more specific error message about what’s causing it to fail starting.

Just guessing, but when I’ve seen it behave that way, it could be a db corruption issue. You can potentially run DBRepair if you’re up for trying it. [https://github.com/ChuckPa/DBRepair](https://github.com/ChuckPa/DBRepair) . There is a section lower on the page for running it on a Mac.

Or you can look into loading a db backup, hopefully it’s been making them. You’ll lose a few days worth of data. [https://support.plex.tv/articles/202485658-restore-a-database-backed-up-via-scheduled-tasks/](https://support.plex.tv/articles/202485658-restore-a-database-backed-up-via-scheduled-tasks/)

Don’t delete anything when you do the db replacement, just rename or move files.

Check for mfplat.dll, this sometimes gets overwritten or lost. replace this and it fixes it most times.
I have faced this issue now 5 times. I keep a copy of the dll in yucked away

Thanks for the tip. I don’t know if this is what you had in mind with the more detailed error message: `Error: Unable to set up server: sqlite3_statement_backend::loadOne: database disk image is malformed (N4soci10soci_errorE)`

This is what I get when I follow your instructions. I am still looking into the other instructions for a possible solution.
