Possible to 'release' tuners? New setup and Plex showing 3 tuners recording but not actually watchin

Brand new setup.
Got the HD Homerun Prime today
Set it up and was running with Plex Live quickly.

I am having an issue where the Plex doesn’t seem to release tuners. I clicked on a program on the Apple TV (TVs 11) and it failed to load so clicked another. Then another. At the fourth, I got the popup asking if I wanted to stop recording one of the three shows and start a new one. None actually loaded (just got a blurred background and large spinning broken up circle).

I just checked the Plex server and with the Apple TV and iPad turned off, I still see 3 tuners and 3 recordings.

I had earlier successfully played an app on my iPad Pro running iOS 11. The Plex Server is still building the channel guide so not sure if that has anything to do with it.

How can I get Plex to stop recording these shows I briefly clicked on?

Where do the recordings live on my drive?

Other thoughts/suggestions:

As someone else noted, having Plex TV available to managed users would be helpful

Also a request to add this function to the LG Web OS app.

If you click on those shows that are recording- you should see a modify recording button I believe and then if you click on that yo should see a cancel button.

I can’t find what shows are being recorded though. There’s nothing to point them out.

Now seeing this and have been out of the house for two hours:

3 tuners but 4 recording?

I have had my tuners get hung but its been while it was recording something and you could see in the “Recording Schedule” what it was hung on and like srjinatl mentioned you can select the recording and cancel it from that screen.

In my experience I reset or restrated the Plex Server and the tuners get freed up.

What version of PMS are you running by the way?

Yeah, seems to be hung up.I don’t think anything is actually recording. I quit Plex Server and restarted. Now showing 3 tuners and no recordings.

Version 1.9.1.4272

Where would I look for any possible recordings?

You’ll also see that if you have some post processing happening, so if you’re recording two shows, and have another two in post processing, you’d see “four recordings” in progress.

And yeah from the plex web interface or other clients that support DVR or Live TV I can see the recordings that its hung on, the below ones are good but if its hung it would look like its recording with a red circle instead of the play icon and you can click that recording edit it and cancel it in the future.

Also if you run into this over and over again you can gather and post logs here which can help us analyze the cause and potential fix to help you and others if it is an ongoing issue.

Recording Schedule was blank so assume the server just got hung up and I made it worst by clicking on more shows to watch. I clicked on a live football show now and it worked.

Happened again.

Tried to load a show on AppleTV3 running TVos11

First one I clicked on immediately jumped back to the program manager.

Second one circled on a blurred background for a while then returned to program manager.

Rebooted AppleTV but didn’t help.

Went to the Plex Server on my iMac and saw two programs ‘recording’ but they weren’t. Quit and restarted Plex server and those recordings disappeared.

I can watch Live TV via Plex on the iMac, iPad Pro and iPhone 6 but the AppleTV seems to be hanging for some reason.

More odd behavior and not sure if relevant to above:

Tried to pull up Plex Live from my office using wifi to connect. Got the program guide but each show gave a failed to load content type message.

Also, for some reason the iPad is showing 453 channels even though I selected 89 or so to show on the server. Tried killing and reopening Plex on iPad Pro (iOS 11) without any change in opening channels or the number shown.
