Hello,

Is their a way to make custom poster art permanent? I noticed that if I make custom art, and I move the file, I have to re-do it… Any help would be great on just making/creating thumbnails/poster art.

  1. If you place the poster art as a file beside the video file
    and
  2. the ‘Local Media Assets’ agent is on top of the list of active agents

then Plex will look first for a poster on your disk and use it, if present.

Of course the best way would be to strictly format your media names like Plex expects them, so the automatic means of fetching posters etc work automatically.
But there are some kind of videos where that is no option like Concert videos or custom videos etc.

If you also need custom textual metadata (title, description, release year, cast etc), you might wanna use Ember Media Manager to create a custom .nfo file with all metadata. Then install the 3rd party .nfo import agents to read those into Plex.
