Posters not generating on PMS 1.25+

Since ‘upgrading’ to 1.25, my imported video files no longer generate any posters or backgrounds. Even performing ‘Analyse’ or ‘Refresh Metadata’ on the files does nothing.

These are ‘Other Video’ files, and don’t have an agent. I’ve gone back to version 1.24 for now (which fixes the problem), but since most of my Plex libraries are ‘Other Videos’ this isn’t a useful long-term solution.

After scouring the forums for an hour or so, the only advice I’ve found is to try clearing out caches etc, but that makes no difference.

I’m not able to reproduce this problem. Can you provide more details? Specific PMS version you tried. What OS? Any other details you can offer.

Better yet, if you can reproduce by Plex Dancing 1 video and get me the logs.

Hi, I don’t know what “Plex Dancing Video 1” is or where to find it, but it’s running on 64-bit Windows Server 2012, and it’s any 1.25+ version of Plex.

1.24 versions are fine and don’t have this problem.

I’ve attached my server log.

Plex Media Server.2.log (33.3 KB)

Click on Plex Dance to learn the dance.

You need to enable debug logging on your server. Without it, the logs don’t have enough info to diagnose anything.

It also helps if you list one of the movies I should be looking for in your logs.

Edit - To be clear, the Plex Dance is a way to reset a movie from scratch so I can see all the info related to adding it in your logs.

OK, thanks for the clarification.

I’ll set up a test and do all of these steps this weekend, and I’ll report back.

Thanks.

You can also try creating a new library with just 1 video and see if that works. If not, the server logs from that should have the info I need to check.

That’s what I intend to do, but I’m running 1.24 right now as I said. It will take a bit of work to install 1.25, do all the steps, make sure you have everything you need, then downgrade back to 1.24.

I’m not the only person who uses it in my household, and I know that it’s going to be in use tonight and possibly tomorrow night as well (kids are watching Get Back, so proud  )… plus I have a day job in the meantime. I will do it ASAP, don’t worry.
