Plex for Windows won’t update itself automatically until you launch it.
I’m looking for a way to run a scheduled task in Windows to check for updates and install in the background periodically so my app is always up to date every time I open it.

Is there a way to trigger an update check and install via CMD or powershell? Then I can just schedule a task to run daily or whatever so it’s always up to date and doesn’t bug me to install updates when I open it.

Thanks!

You can get any of the Plex applications from the winget package manager. I don’t know if it’s kept up-to-date though.

Plex for Windows is `Plex.Plex`.

```auto
winget install Plex.Plex
```
